The free niche finder

The public tool that turns one interest into three scored niche ideas for a faceless channel, with no account — and how a pick carries into your new workspace.

The niche finder is a free page on our site: type something you are into and it comes back with three ideas for a faceless channel, each scored for demand, competition, renderability, depth and risk, with episodes you could make first. It needs no account and no card. Use it to test an idea before you sign up, or to send a friend somewhere useful.

What it does#

One run reads your interest and proposes the three best channel niches inside it or next to it, judged honestly — a weak niche gets a low score. Each idea comes as a card:

On the cardWhat it is
Top pick, Idea 2, Idea 3The ideas, best first by their overall score
The title and one lineThe channel idea in a few words, and what a viewer would understand it to be
OverallOne score out of 10 that weighs the five below as a careful channel builder would
Five scoresDemand, Competition, Renderability, Depth and Risk, each out of 10, as bars
What you'd seeWhat is literally on screen, in terms of what our renderer draws
Why it worksThe demand and the angle nobody has taken
Example episodesThree concrete first titles
Build this channelTakes the idea to sign-up and into your new workspace

If your interest cannot be rendered from code — real people, celebrities, footage — the ideas are the nearest niches that can.

How it scores#

ScoreBetter whenWhat it measures
DemandHigherHow much people already search for and watch this kind of video on Shorts, Reels and YouTube
CompetitionLowerHow crowded the niche is with channels already doing the same thing
RenderabilityHigherHow well it can be animated beautifully from scratch — scenes drawn in code, not stock footage or real people
DepthHigherWhether there is enough to say for 300 episodes or more without repeating yourself
RiskLowerMonetisation and policy risk: medical or legal advice, scare content, politics, children, misinformation, impersonation

A bar is green, amber or red by whether its value is good for that score, so a low Competition bar is a good sign. The scores are an informed judgement — not live platform data, and not a forecast of views or income. Use them to compare ideas and choose which to try first.

How to use it#

  1. Open the niche finder.
  2. Under What are you into?, type a topic or two — 3 to 120 characters, in words. Or press one of the examples after Try: "space", "ancient engineering", "deep sea", "how machines work", "lost civilisations", "extreme weather".
  3. Press Find niches. The page first checks you are a person (Checking you're human…, a second or two of work in your browser), then researches. A run usually takes 20 to 60 seconds; the page shows how long it has been.
  4. Read the three cards. Specific interests give sharper ideas: "how bridges and tall buildings stand up" beats "engineering".
  5. Press Build this channel on the idea you like.

From an idea to a channel#

Build this channel keeps your pick in your browser for 7 days and takes you to sign-up:

  1. Create your account and your workspace, then confirm your email (see Quick start).
  2. A new workspace's Overview shows Your pick from the niche finder — its title and line — on the Start your first channel card. The start page (New channel) shows it whole under From the niche finder: the title, the line, what you'd see and its example titles.
  3. Press Build this channel there. The setup skips the research — your pick is the niche — drafts the channel and builds a renderer just for it, then makes the first episode, the brand suite and two more episodes. Its price is shown under the button before you press it.

A renderer built for one niche needs more credits than the Trial holds: on the Trial, the setup builds the channel and its kit, then waits for credits before the first episode. If one of the proven formats covers your idea, starting from it gets a first episode on the Trial.

If you are already signed in, Build this channel takes you to the workspace you used last. Open New channel there: the start page shows the pick under From the niche finder.

Limits and good to know#

  • Up to 3 searches an hour and 10 a day from one address, and 300 a day for everyone together; past that the page says when it opens again (midnight UTC for the daily total). In your own workspace, niche research has no such limit and goes deeper: ten proposals on the first run (eight more each time you ask), a shortlist that works as a set, and the research's own judgement of difficulty and risk.
  • The ideas are for an English-language channel. For another language, create a project in your workspace and choose its language.
  • A reload, or Back from the sign-up page, picks up the same run for half an hour instead of starting a new one.
  • The page needs JavaScript, and a recent Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge for its check.
  • Your interest is used only to write the ideas. The address you searched from is erased after 2 days and the run itself after 30 days. See the Privacy Policy.

Troubleshooting#

The page saysWhat to do
"Type a little more — at least 3 characters."Add a word or two
"You've used your 3 free searches for this hour."Wait, or start free and research in your own workspace
"The niche finder has run all of today's free searches."Try again after midnight UTC
This is taking longer than usual.Press Keep waiting; the research is still running
"This search has expired or doesn't exist. Start a new one."Search again
"We couldn't confirm you're human. Reload the page and try again."Reload; check that JavaScript is on
