Your account and sign-in

Creating an account, signing in, password resets, two-factor authentication, sessions, changing your email, downloading your data, and deleting a workspace or your account.

Your account is yours alone: one sign-in for every workspace you belong to. Its settings are on Account & security — press your name at the foot of the sidebar and choose it from the menu — and none of them is shared with a workspace.

Create an account#

  1. On the sign-up page, fill in Your name, Work email and a Password of at least 10 characters.
  2. Tick that you agree to the Terms and the Privacy Policy; product updates by email are optional.
  3. Press Create account, then name your first workspace.
  4. Open the link in the confirmation email within 24 hours. Until you do, a notice at the top of the app offers Resend link.

Confirming your email unlocks the Trial's 400 credits, once per person, in the first workspace you created (not for a throwaway email address, nor when one network has already started several trials that month). An invitation to someone else's workspace takes you straight back to it after sign-up — see Workspaces, projects, teams and roles.

Sign in with your email and password. With two-factor on, the next step asks for the 6-digit code from your authenticator app, or one of your recovery codes.

  • Too many attempts in a short time — on one account, or from one place — pause sign-in for a while, and after 10 wrong passwords in a row the account locks for 15 minutes. The message says how long.
  • A disabled account cannot sign in: contact support@storeswiki.com.
  • Sign out in the menu ends the session on this device.

Reset your password#

  1. On the sign-in page, press Forgot? beside Password.
  2. Type your email and press Send reset link. If an account exists for it, a link arrives; it works once, for one hour. (The answer is the same whether an account exists or not.)
  3. Choose a new password. Every device is signed out; sign in with the new one.

Profile#

Profile holds your Name (how you appear to people in your workspaces), your Time zone — dates and times in the app are shown in it, the Calendar included (spending caps and reports keep to UTC months) — and Email me occasional product news. Account, security and billing emails always arrive.

Change your email#

  1. Under Email, type the New email address and your Current password.
  2. Press Send confirmation link. A link goes to the new address and works for 24 hours.
  3. Open it while signed in and press Confirm the change: your address changes then, and not before.

Until then the page shows the change waiting, with Cancel change. Asking again replaces the earlier link. An address another account already uses cannot be taken.

Change your password#

Under Password, type the Current password, the New password and Repeat the new password, then press Change password. A password needs at least 10 characters (at most 256), enough different characters, and none of the most common words. Changing it signs out every other device; this one stays signed in.

Two-factor authentication#

Two-factor adds a 6-digit code from your phone to every sign-in, so a leaked password alone cannot get in.

  1. Under Two-factor authentication, type your password under Confirm your password and press Set up two-factor.
  2. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (1Password, Google Authenticator, Authy or similar), or add the key by hand: time-based, 6 digits, 30 seconds.
  3. Type the code the app shows and press Turn on two-factor.
  4. Save your recovery codes now. Ten codes are shown once — Copy all or Download .txt — each signing you in once if you lose your phone. Press I've saved them.

Every other signed-in device needs a code the next time it is used. Later:

  • Make new codes replaces your recovery codes (the old ones stop working) — after a code from your app or your password. The panel warns when three or fewer are left.
  • Turn off returns sign-in to the password alone — after a code from your app or your password.

Sessions#

Where you're signed in lists every device with an open session: the device, its IP address, when it was last active and when it signed in. A session ends 30 days after its sign-in; that device then signs in again.

  • Sign out ends one device's session.
  • Sign out everywhere else ends all but this one.

A device you do not recognise: sign it out, then change your password.

Download your data#

Download my data gives a JSON file with your account, memberships, sessions, notifications and audit trail, and the workspaces you own (projects, channels, episodes and their posts — the records, not the media). It never holds a secret: no password, no two-factor secret, no platform tokens. It can be downloaded three times an hour.

Delete a workspace#

An owner deletes a workspace in Settings → Workspace → Delete workspace, typing the word it shows (the workspace's address) to confirm.

Before you can:

  • cancel any paid subscription in Settings → Billing — the workspace can be deleted once the plan has ended;
  • in an agency, remove its clients first.

At once: the workspace disappears for every member, schedules stop and live channels are paused, running jobs are cancelled (their reserved credits come back), API keys are revoked, webhooks are switched off and pending invitations stop working.

Within 7 days, ChannelForge deletes:

  • every platform connection and its tokens;
  • everything it read from the platforms for the workspace — numbers, comments, Insights, Studio's copies;
  • its link pages' click counts, and its brand voice.

This deletes ChannelForge's copy only. To remove ChannelForge's access at a platform itself, revoke it in the platform's own settings — each platform page says where (for example, Google at myaccount.google.com/permissions).

The billing records, the credit history, the audit log and the records of past jobs are kept, as the law and our accounts require. What you made — episodes, videos, films, kits — can no longer be opened by any member once the workspace is deleted; to have it deleted as well, email support@storeswiki.com.

Delete your account#

Under Delete account, type your email address and your Current password, and press Delete my account.

  • You leave every workspace you belong to.
  • A workspace where you are the only member is deleted with your account, as above.
  • If you are the only owner of a workspace that has other members, you are asked to hand it over first: make one of them an owner, or remove them.
  • A workspace with a live subscription must be cancelled first, and its plan must have ended.
  • Platform staff accounts cannot be deleted here.

Your name, password and two-factor are removed and every session ends. This cannot be undone from the app.

Signing in to an agency's portal#

If an agency runs your channels, you sign in to its portal — in its own brand — with Email me a sign-in link: a link that works once, for 15 minutes. If your account has two-factor on, the portal asks for the code too. See Agency mode.

Troubleshooting#

"Too many attempts. Try again in … minutes." Wait for the time it says; a wrong password ten times locks the account for 15 minutes.

Lost your phone. Sign in with a recovery code instead of the 6-digit code. Then, under Two-factor authentication, use Turn off with your password, and set it up again on the new phone. Without a recovery code, email support@storeswiki.com from your account's address.

The confirmation link expired. Sign in and press Resend link on the notice at the top.

"This invitation is for a different address." Press Sign out and switch, then sign in or sign up with the address the invitation was sent to.
