Link-in-bio pages

A public page per channel for every profile's bio link — its brand, platform profiles, latest episodes and your own links — with clicks counted without cookies and UTM tags added on the way out.

Each channel can have one public page to put in the bio of every profile it posts from: its look, its platform profiles, its latest episodes and the links you add — a shop, a newsletter, a sponsor. Visitors see one fast page with nothing tracking them; you see which links they click.

What it does#

The page is built from the channel's brand suite, so it looks like the channel:

  • The top: the channel's profile picture, a headline (the brand's promise unless you write your own) and a short bio (the brand's one-liner unless you write your own).
  • Its platform profiles: a button for each account the channel posts from (except LinkedIn, whose profile address ChannelForge is not told).
  • Its latest episodes: up to 12 (6 at first), each with its own thumbnail, each leading to the post on its platform. Visitors watch on YouTube, Instagram or wherever it was posted — the page never serves the video itself.
  • Your links: up to 20, in the order you choose. An affiliate link is marked as one, with a disclosure on the page.
  • A light and a dark look, both from the brand's colours and both checked for readable contrast. The page follows the visitor's device, or always one of the two.

It is one plain page: no scripts, no web fonts, nothing loaded from another site, and no cookie of any kind. When the address is shared in a post or a chat, platforms show a preview card with the brand's banner.

Turn it on#

Editors, admins and owners can edit the page; every member sees it and its clicks.

  1. Open Channels, then the channel, and scroll to Link-in-bio page.
  2. Fill in what you want (all of it is optional — see the settings below) and tick The page is live.
  3. Press Save the page. The card now shows the address, marked live, with Copy beside it.
  4. Add your own links under Add a link: a Label, the Address (https://…), and whether it is an Affiliate link.
  5. Put the address in the bio of each of the channel's profiles.

The page's address is on ChannelForge's own domain and is made of your workspace's address and the channel's key. A Short handle gives it a short one: https://forge.storeswiki.com/l/your-handle.

Settings#

LabelWhat the button says, up to 80 characters.
AddressAn http:// or https:// address, up to 2,048 characters.
ShownUntick to hide the link without deleting it.

A link must be an ordinary web address. These are refused when you save:

  • any address that is not http:// or https:// — never javascript:, data: or similar;
  • an address with a user name or password in it;
  • a private or local address (a home network, a .local or .internal name, a private IP address);
  • a link through another link-in-bio redirect;
  • a site on ChannelForge's blocklist of tools made to grab a visitor's address or hide phishing. A link saved before a site was blocklisted is stopped at its next click.

UTM tags#

Unless a link carries UTM parameters of its own, or its UTM box is unticked, a visitor's click adds four tags to it, so your shop or newsletter can see where the visit came from:

TagValue
utm_sourcelink_in_bio, or your own
utm_mediumsocial, or your own
utm_campaignthe channel's key, or your own
utm_contentthe link's label in lower case, words joined by hyphens, up to 40 characters

For example, a link to https://shop.example.com/telescope labelled "Shop the telescope" opens as https://shop.example.com/telescope?utm_source=link_in_bio&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=…&utm_content=shop-the-telescope.

Clicks#

Every click goes through the page's own redirect and is counted, per link and per day:

  • the editor shows Clicks, last 30 days, per link, with Clicks and Visitors;
  • Export CSV downloads the last 90 days, day by day, with the columns day, kind, item, label, address, clicks, visitors (a kind is profile, episode or link).

Counting keeps nothing personal: there is no cookie, and a day's visitors are told apart by a one-way code that changes every day and is kept for two days only. Bots, link previews and browsers loading a page ahead of time are not counted, and one visitor counts at most 20 clicks a day on one link. The counts are ChannelForge's own data — not a platform's.

Credits and plans#

Link-in-bio pages are in every plan, the Trial included, and cost no credits.

Limits and good to know#

  • One page per channel, up to 20 links on it.
  • New episodes appear on the page within five minutes; a change you save shows at once.
  • The page's pictures are cached for up to a day under their own addresses, so they can stay reachable for a day after you switch the page off.
  • A page answers "not found" whenever it is off, its channel is archived or its workspace is suspended or deleted.
  • The page's address includes your workspace's address. A short handle gives you a shorter address to share; the page's buttons and pictures still use its full address.

Troubleshooting#

"The handle … is taken — choose another." Handles are unique across every workspace, and words the site uses itself (such as docs, pricing or support) are reserved. Try another.

A link will not save. Read the message under it: most often the address does not start with https://, or it points at a private or blocklisted address.

No clicks yet. Clicks are counted only through the page's own buttons. Check that the profiles' bios carry the page's address, not the shop's.
